I worked at Crownsville Hospital Center until it closed in June, 2004. I worked on the first unit to be transfered to another psychiatric hospital. I must say seeing the photos were very special and bring back wonderful memories. The hospital grounds was beautifully maintained. I live next to dixmont insane asylum here in western pa and they want to demolish it to build a super walmart this state hospital has a lot of history and facts like letting the patients loose in the communities in the early 1900's so sad you need to see this 403 acre place youll never forget ill take you if you live close

This is the best website I have seen for pictures of Abandoned Asylums. I love when you use the black and white film, it gives that old feeling to the bulidings. I cant wait to see Traverse City.
